Submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) surveys can be conducted via a variety of methods. However, since SAV surveys are performed by multiple entities in the State of Florida and used in the development of statewide policy, an SAV calibration exercise is conducted annually to ensure consistent survey methodologies across all entities. During this calibration exercise, representatives from multiple state agencies, universities, and federal agencies come together to calibrate their methods for mapping, scoring, and reporting. EAI participated in the most recent calibration exercise in May 2017 and is now up-to-date on SAV survey methodologies that will mirror the calibrated statewide method.
